SPAIN 12 - MALTA 1: 25th ANNIVERSARY OF A HISTORIC VICTORY

Today is the 25th Anniversary of the historic Spanish Team 12 - 1
victory over MALTA which qualified the side for the EURO 1984
competition.

Here´s the brief. Spain needed to win Malta by 11 goals in order to
overtake Holland in its Group & thus qualify for the Euro 84
tournament. An awesome objective that everyone thought was virtually

impossible. However it happened & it went down in Spanish Football
history















That night leyendary Real Madrid forward SANTILLANA scored
four goals, along with RINCON who also scored four.
